List of Popular Disco Songs Bollywood and Non Bollywood

Disco Music has been a very highly popular form of music in the 70’s and 80’s. Disco music originated in America and became widely popular across the globe as dance music played in discotheques. People would groove and dance to the music mixed by Disk Jockeys.  Disco music became highly popular in India too. Musicians like Bappi Lahri, R. D Burman, Biddu introduced disco music to bollywood. Popular music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal also experimented with this kind of music. Some of the old bollywood disco songs are highly popular and still in demand.

Music composer and producer Biddu capitalized on the popularity of Disco music. He had already tasted some success in Disco music in England. Biddu launched the career of popular singer Tina Charles. He collobrated with Pakistani Singer Nazia Hassan to  produce some highly popular Disco songs like Disco Deewane and Aap Jaisa Koi for the bollywood movie Qurbani. Apart from Biddu bollywood music composer Bappi Lahri also created some memorable disco tracks.

  1. Disco deewnane is a super hit disco track of 80’s. Probably one of the first disco songs to become a huge hit. This lively song is composed by Biddu who played a vital role in making disco music popular in India. Sung by Pakistani Singer Nazia Hasan. This song was recreated and sung by Shaan and Sagarika for the album Naujawan.
  2. Koi yaha aa ha nache nache is a peppy disco number from the movie Disco Dancer starring Mithun Chakraborty, Kim ,Kalpana Iyer, Om Puri, and Om Shivpuri. This song is composed by Bappi Lahri who was among the most successful music composers in 80’s. He is credited with most number of Disco hit songs besides creating some very melodious songs for movies. Bappi Lahri used unconventional voice of Singer Usha Uthup for this song
  3. I am a disco dancer song is an energetic dance number from the highly successful movie Disco Dancer starring Mithun Chakroborty. This song is composed by Bappi Lahri and sung by Vijay Benedict. Most of the songs of this movie were disco based. Music played very crucial role in making this movie a blockbuster and made Mithun Chakroborty a household name.
