Kajol is one of the finest bollywood actress. She is a spontaneous and highly talented actress and has worked in osme of the most memorable movies of her time. Kajol comes from a background of films. Her mother Tanuja is a popular bollywood actress of 60’s and 70’s. Her maternal aunt Nutan was an excellent bollywood actress and her father Shomu Mukherjee was a well known film director and producer. Kajol is married to actor Ajay Devgan and has two children. Kajol is proud recipient of the prestigious Padam Shree Award.

Kajol made her entry into bollywood at a very young age while she was still studying. Bekhudi was her debut movie in which she was cast against Kamal Sadanah. The movie didn’t too well at the box office but Kajol’s talent didn’t go unnoticed. She made an impact with her performance. Kajol’s subsequent movie was Baazigar in which she shared the screen with Shahrukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty. This movie became a bumper hit at box office and was her first hit movie. Her onscreen chemistry with her co actor Shahrukh Khan was special. Their on screen chemistry worked wonders in movies like Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham.

Kajols’s biggest hit and most memorable movie is Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge . DDLJ is an iconic movie which holds serveral records. This movie is the highest grossing movie of Bollywood. In fact this movie still has regular shows in the movie theater  Maratha Manndir even after 25 years of its release, this incredible feat has not acheived by any other movie in world cinema. This iconic movie won 10 filmfare awards and Kajol won Filmfare Best Actress Trophy. This movie also bagged the National Award For Most Popular Film.

Gupt is another movie in which Kajol proved her mettle. She shared the screen with Bobby Deol and Manisha Koirala. Kajol played a negative character in the movie and was the star of the movie. She played a difficult negative character as she did not want to get typecast. Kajol has proved her maturity as an artist by doing differnt genre of films. Ishq was romantic comedy featuring Kajol, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan and Juhi Chawla. Dushman was an intense thriller, in which she played double role. Kajol recieved Screen Best Actress Award for her role in Dushman.

Kajol has performed very well under the direction of Karan Johar and all her movies in his direction have been huge hits. Movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starring Kajol, Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee became one of the biggest hit of Kajol’s career, she won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for this movie. Similarly Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gam with Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor was a big blogbuster and Kajol again recieved Filmafare Best Actress Award for this movie. Both these movies were directed by Karan Johar.

Besides this Kajol has been part of several other successful movies. Ishq, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Pyar to Hona Hi Tha were all hit movies of Kajol’s illustrious career. Another movie Fanaa in which Kajol played the role of blind girl opposite Aamir Khan was also big movie of Kajol’s career and she bagged the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her role this movie.
