Silsila 1981 Movie Story Starcast
Silsila is a 1981 hindi movie directed by ace director Yash Chopra. The film is a love triangle and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan. Music of the movie is composed by Shiv-Hari.
Orphaned at a young age, brothers Shekhar Malhotra (Shashi Kapoor) and Amit Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) lead independent lives. Shekhar is a squad leader in the Indian Air Force, and Amit is a budding writer. Shekhar falls in love with the lovely Shobha (Jaya Bachchan), while Amit seeks to woo the hottie Chandni (Rekha). Amit finds professional success as a playwright in Delhi. He enjoys success among the intellectual elite of Delhi. His passion and dedication to his craft wins Chandni’s affection and they share a brief, blissful courtship.
Chandni’s parents prepare to get her married to Amit. Both Shekhar and Amit plan to get married at the same time, but Shekhar is killed in a dogfight against the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), leaving a pregnant Shobha behind.
Shobha loses her child in a car accident. A child no longer happens to bind them together and Amit and Shobha begin to drift apart. Amit finds Chandni and they secretly rekindle their love affair. But the secrecy of the affair is at risk. The police inspector (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) who happens to be Shobha’s cousin, is determined to expose Amit’s affair with Chandni. Soon, Amit decides that he can no longer continue in his loveless marriage to Shobha and wants to reconcile with Chandni. This news comes to Shobha, she believed that if her love is true then he will return to her.
Similarly, Chandni’s husband Dr. Anand comes to know about Chandni’s infidelity. Dr. Anand leaves on a business trip and assures Chandni that he will be back soon. Amit and Chandni leave the city to start a new life. But Dr. Anand’s plane crashes, bringing the lovers who were escaping in a helicopter to the wreckage.
Amit confronts Shobha. He learns that she is going to be the mother of his child. When Dr. Anand is rescued from the rubble, Chandni realizes her love for her husband. The film ends with Amit and Shobha happily married.
